CRAZY JENNY'S DAY 1

We've had this idea for a while, going on a diet together, writing about it...together. But I've always been a reluctant blogger... just in the sense that I'm wondering whether anyone would really want to read about my daily thoughts, but more importantly, I feel that the best blogs I have seen are brutally honest ones. And I never really came up with a topic that I felt like I could honestly write about every single day without getting bored (or without boring others...)

So here's what we came up with. We are going to go on a diet and write about it for the NEXT 90 DAYS! We are not going on the same diet (that would be akin to both of us wearing matching track suits at the mall as far as I'm concerned), and we have a time limit of 90 days. (Mainly because I'm pretty much on some sort of diet every day-- even if it's only the I-really-shouldn't-eat-that-second-okay-fine-third-piece-of-cake-diet.)

Our mission statement with this blog is to really find out how crazy (women) and stupid (men) differ when it comes to the incredibly difficult and highly annoying goal of losing weight. I think women and men are very different when it comes to lots of things, and so I have no doubt that my thoughts on dieting and exercise will be very different than Howard's thoughts. (Full disclosure: I've always thought that men seem to lose weight more easily than women...which i find to be so not fair since society puts far more pressure on women about their weight than on men! Call me whiney, but that's how I feel.)

Anyway, I guess we'll see how it goes. Today is day 1... I really thought that it was dumb to start a diet on a Saturday, myself. (I'm usually big on starting diets on Mondays and on the first of the month...or year...haha) But Howard convinced me with the reasoning that if we started today we could splurge at the movies (yesterday) --which we did!!

We ate a whole package of these delicious chocolately cookies called Tim Tams (we had the double coated chocolate ones that were extra chocolately...which is funny because it's basically a chocolate cookie with chocolate cream in the middle that is covered with chocolate already...so i wasn't sure how they could make it extra chocolate-y...but whatever...they did, and i ate them.) Let the record show that I ate one less cookie than Howard... (why they give you an odd number of cookies, i'll never know.)

Jenny
